Board Plan 2013-2018 Posted for Public Comment

 Workforce Solutions (WFS) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the delivery of employment and publicly-funded training services in Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties. WFS receives Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)/CHOICES, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Child Care Development funds, among others.  These funds are administered to WFS by the Texas Workforce Commission.

Workforce Solutions is making their five–year Board Plan available for public review and comment prior to plan implementation in January 2013.

The Board Plan for Workforce Solutions of Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties will be available for review and comment from November 14, 2012 to December 14, 2012. 

Written comments are due on or before December 14, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. CST.  Written comments may be submitted to the Workforce Solutions’ Corporate Office located at 3101 W.  TIP_Strategies_Header

In 2009, leaders in the Rio Grande Valley commissioned TIP Strategies, Inc. to conduct an industry cluster analysis of the region; which includes Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy and Cameron County. Funding for this project was provided by the Texas Workforce Commission as part of the agency’s Regional Cooperation Capacity Building for Targeted Industries grant.
